::Inspiring Pakistan::

Muhammad Ammad Aziz
Spending time in parks, walking, and observing nature always intrigues me. I do it not only because I like it, but because it is my escape, my solution for entangled thoughts. I like to see it this way: Walking long distances increases your heart beating rate, pumps more blood to your brain, therefore, providing it with much-needed oxygen. The benefits? I sense my focus aligning, thoughts become creative, ideas start to flow, and my physique stays fit.

Friday, 29th March'19

After completing 2 tracks around the Model Town park, I looked for a place to sit quietly, and continue reading a book that I was reading for a month now! Took me some time, and eventually ended up deciding otherwise. I was now reading as I walked. After covering a kilometer or so, a group of students grabbed my attention. They were at some distance. I felt and acted on my natural tendency to walk up to them, and talk. I was always bad at networking. Make me sit with a group of people and I'll spend hours without uttering a word. But this time it was different.

"Assalamu Alaykum. Hello boys, what you guys are up to?"
"We are making a Tik Tok!" - one of the boys replies enthusiastically.
"Oh that Cancer... *Laughs* Kiya bana rahay ho abhi?"
"Bas kuch naye (new) actions k bary me soch rahay hain. Aap banain gay hamary sath Tik Tok?" - another one replies
"Nahi, Nahi yaar.. Ap banao, me to bas wesy he dekh raha tha to socha Let's bump into boys. Aur kia chal raha hy aaj kal?"
"FSc. kar rahay hain" *Subjects kia hyn?* "Sciences."
"Agay k kiya plans hain yaar? Kia socha hua hy?"

At this moment, I felt like a phupho with long nose who tucks it in everyone's matter. On purpose, I decided to keep it going.

"Kar he lain gy kuch. Doctor banna hy, B.Com kr lyn gy."
"Oh khuwab to bohat achy hyn ap sub k laikin doctor bannay k liye MBBS krna parhta hay"
"Han wo bhi kar lain gy"

Here I felt a shock, and an immediate need to guide them. And so I did.

"Yaar imagine one of you lives at an xyz place. If you want to come here (Model Town) again, will you be able to make it?
*Everyone nodded with attention*

"Now if roads are blocked. Imagine Khadim Hussain Rizvi has blocked the roads, now what?
*We'll find an alternative way*

"Haina? If you know your destination, you will find your way no matter whatever the hurdle is. Boys listen, you are in a race. The earlier you realize it, the farther you go. You are studying in a well-reputed institution. Your acts define you. Not the place. It is always What's inside the cup, not How the cup looks like. The contents of the cup matters. You matter. Make a difference."

By now everyone was attentive. Focused. It felt as if I was inside their spiritual bodies, touching their souls, their minds, and their hearts: Sensing that they are being molded into something they have always aspired. It felt good. Good not because I found a handful of ears to listen to me, but because I was making a difference through my actions, through my words.

"You lot have an unmatched, unparalleled, unexplored potential in you. You all can do well, and be someone huge! Find that potential, because YOU CAN"

I concluded looking at them in their eyes that stared me for next 3 seconds in complete silence. This is GIVING BACK TO SOCIETY."- I whispered to myself. The same lot that felt immature a while ago now seemed matured all of a sudden, had thirst to succeed and to make a difference. The moment was locked for them in the pursuit to find what potential each one of them had inside them.

This incident left me in breath-taking satisfaction for the whole day. Mere the thought that anyone of them may change their life - positively - because of my words makes me happy.

Here's a picture of me with dem boys post-talk:
